Long ass car ride

Ok I know there is going to miscommunications between people but this one was big. I'm not going to go into detail but a 3 hour bus rid to hang out with some friends for the night turned into a 10 hour ride jammed in a suv with 7 others to go to a WEDDING! Ok, I don't have any nice cloths with me and I wasn't planning on 10 hours in a car. At least I got some free food.

An enjoyable & colourful colonial village.........

... who spoke fluent English and his staff were extremely friendly, as are the hotels owners. The spacious rooms are nicely furnished with two double beds, cable TV, purified water and wireless internet. Rates begin at 700 Peso for 2 persons but you shouldn't have any problems in getting some discount if you ask. I was fortunate to get a room for 325 peso as the owners of the hotel were ...

Paradise Lost....

... of things, the Kobe/Shaq metaphor to life on the road...and let me tell you...TODAAAAY SUCKED!!! I was a little miffed at not being awarded Junior Captain while sailing on the Chihuahua Star Ferry, so I kind of had a chip on my shoulder when we got off the boat...then, we made it half way to Mazatlan before we began to run out of daylight...so we then thought we'd find the center of town in Culiacan and find a nice hotel off the town square. Wrong! It's rush ...

Windy Isolated Beaches of El Dorado

... him to the staton and he gave it back. he then started saying something about how we wouldn't have to pay any money here or in town and asked for something else instead. we had no idea what it was he wanted but eventually he asked for $5 and let us go. that night on the beach in el dorado i felt a bit unnerved as we were very isolated and miles from anywhere and people kept coming for short periods. we imagined intimate encounters and dodgy drug deals and tried to sleep.

All Las Cascabellas park just for us

... the door step (that looked lilke an accordion) but we... Ian... managed to repair everything with a good old hammer. The park was built around a lagoon and was a fairly extensive water park and villas complex. We noticed many beautiful birds and the funniest thing. We were there in a huge fenced park all alone with the overnight security guard. Bon, enough for this one! Bye people, Eugie

Small Villages in Mexico

... since we left California. A family consisting of a Mother, Father and their two daughters aging 5 and 7 made friends with us, and helped us alot through many of the bus changes we had to make, to ensure our backpack followed us on the same bus. We've so far found Mexican people to be very lovely. Every where I go in these ...

... is that wrestling is basically fake, and although i admired some of the acrobatics (cool backflips etc) after the first couple of matches you´ve pretty much seen all the moves and recognise the pattern, which is mainly the ones who get massivley hammered at the beginning always come back at the end. After we came back the bar man was making everyone drink tequilla... again, which is why i was feeling so rough for the trip. I did get my ...

Mainland Mexico

... finding the only open trailer park was not difficult, with the help of 'ontheroadin.com' and their excellent maps. However the park was locked up for the night. Well, not quite.... the gate was only chained, not locked. In we went, and a restful, rooster infested night was enjoyed.

Marathon journey starts - Mazatlan to Los Mochis

... hello bus. I arrived in Los Mochis in time for a meal and opportunity to try a new beer (Texacate), buy my train ticket, find a hotel room (following my loney planet guide and opting for a more basic place than previously as this is just a stop over. Place was basic indeed, but good enough and still in hotel class - not yet made it to dormitories in hostels. Managed to book a taxi for 5 in the morning in broken spanish and got a short ...
