I take my time walking, making sure I capture plenty on my camera as I already notice the sun going down. It will be pitch-black soon, so I’d better get as much of the view onto film (yeah, yeah, I’m not actually using film. I feel better using this moniker, ok?) before I become unable to do so.
It isn’t long before the streetlights disappear and I find myself walking a path not meant for cars, meandering its way through the forests ...
... and a trinket shop. Down the narrow side alleys are dozens of tiny bars and restaurants, each with only 2 or 3 tables or 5 bar stools. Then there'll be a little shrine tucked away in the back, the incense mingling with the smell of Japanese beer.
At dinner the second night our new friends, who ordered everything so we don't know what we ate, suggested a couple of days in Matsushima, one of the most beautiful spots in Japan. ...
... Bay where we could almost not find our hotel, but it was beautifully located on a small hill overlooking the Matsushima bay with the small islands.
We immediately were exploring the island that was accessible by the bridge and to capture some of the pictures when the sun was setting.
The hotel and onsen were really nice and the meal was excellent. All variety of sea food nicely prepared overlooking the bay -- just nice
