... in the canal. We waited for 10mins for the barge to pass and the road to be lowered back down. We found the hotel (Hotel der Duinen) easy enough after that and couldn't have been made more welcome. We decided to pay an extra €18 per day to park the car in a locked garage (about 100m away from the hotel). Parking is very tricky and limited to 4 hourly periods only. ... which actually worked out fine – we all headed inside for drinks and hot soup and sandwiches. The mayor of Oostburg gave a speech, and by the time we were ready to start again, the clouds had started to clear. We marched to the City Hall for another ceremony and then pressed on. By this time, our feet and legs were starting to ache, and we were only halfway through.
