... we only had 5 minutes to wait.

We arrived at the marina and had to reverse into our alongside mooring near the entrance as it was already looking quite full. The marina has 2 sides to it and in the middle is a miniature lighthouse which turned out to be a toilet!

A few more boats arrived later and moored on the other side and out on the canal. We heard that the canal is closed tomorrow from 10-5 tomorrow for an event so it is a good job we ...

... which actually worked out fine – we all headed inside for drinks and hot soup and sandwiches. The mayor of Oostburg gave a speech, and by the time we were ready to start again, the clouds had started to clear. We marched to the City Hall for another ceremony and then pressed on. By this time, our feet and legs were starting to ache, and we were only halfway through.

After a few more hours – and another stop at the Holy Water ...

... a brief overview of the major sights and then we had 90 minutes to go off and explore on our own.

The town square had a few buildings of interest including a church, belfry and the town hall, which was apparently built over 300 years which explains why the front and the back are two different styles. We decided to take a look in the church (Sint-Baafs) which was under renovation from the outside. Inside we found one of the most beautiful church ...
