... too much and tired due to our disruption last night. Planned to drive over the Alps into Italy only to find the road was closed, feeling very jealous of the people out skiing and snowboarding around us. Backtracked slightly to get back on the highway to take us into Italy, taking us up and over the Alps with spectacular views. Parked up near a castle overlooking a lake after loosing alot of height, no snow in sight only a backdrop of snowy peaks from the Alps.

... t take a nap, but were not so much gung-ho into heading to the slopes, which included renting of equipment logistics etc. So ...with that state of mind, we ended up exploring Zermatt and chilling for our Saturday. For such a popular destination, the town was actually very our exploring was not so exhaustive. We did manage however to do a "tourist" sans ski on the Sat. to the top, and hit the slopes on the Sunday. Cool weekend!

As we passed through the little villages and hamlets, some looked just as they had all those years ago; others were a little larger with the newer chalets mingled amongst the older ones.
