Recovering

... he is asking me if I am ok every minute and wont let me get out of bed to do anything. We have spent three days just doing nothing in the room but on sunday we went out for a walk and I seem to be getting better at one point I think that I wanted to come home but what difference does it make being here or at home. We have some sunshine now and I can just relax.

I have slept for nearly 14 hours ...

Disaster Strikes!

... I did not know what had happened and I think I was knocked out for a few minutes so Ian went to get some help and they called an ambulance. They were amazing really the lady from the theatre was cool helping me to get up but I could not walk and felt like I was going to pass out again. Anyways got taken to hospital in Pula and spent the next few hours having xrays and scans and allsorts. They had to put 4 ...

As we said its getting colder now so we decided not to do much today as we both wanted to relax anyway after the hectic few weeks that we have had in Turkey greece and italy. So we just went for a walk in the harbour and had a look around its another pretty little harbour town with some cafes but its still really different from Italy. We found a supermarket and as we wanted ...

Nude Beach and Water Sports in Rovinj

Rovinj is our first stop with our new guests, my high school friends aboard. Unlike most of our guests when they first come aboard, my friends were very hyper and anxious to get out and have some fun.

I usually wake up around 8 AM and expected my friends to sleep in much later. But, shortly after my coffee service arrived, I heard a knock on my door and it was Jeff and Vance coming to wake me up. After ...

Driving in Slovenia and actually seeing stuff

... of alleyways behind the town hall, in the hopes of losing myself in them for a little while as I headed out to the lighthouse, on the tip of the town that extends into the Adriatic. Fortunately or unfortunately, the town is small enough that, while one can wander through these alleyways, it is really difficult to truly lose one's self in them. I was out at the lighthouse a short time later, which, as promised by my guidebook, was quite unimpressive ...

... and I joined Mauro at his favorite restaurant and ordered a typical Croatian lunch. Grilled vegetable, grilled fish, calamari and of course beer. We watched a class of young sailors practicing in the bay right in next to our table. He told us many Italians come to Croatia for the food.

Mauro told us how he grew up in this small town and now is an English professor at a local college. His only ...

Venice to Rovinj (Croatia)

... of the town and decided to climb the tower. The views were magnificent and definitely worth the 200 or so steep, narrow rungs to get there, although we weren't so sure on the way back down. We wandered about the quaint marble paved lanes for a while before deciding on a restaurant by the water to have dinner, and then watched the sunset before walking back to the apartment.

Rovinj

... The picture above tells the story best. We took refuge in the car as the lightning was intense and the hail was the size of marbles. Rovinj is a town built on a small peninsula with several smaller islands around it. You can see that the people who built Venice had a hand in building Rovinj. No canals here but the style of buildings and narrow alleys are similar. The water around the town is crystal clear and there are some great spots for a swim. A very beautiful town, one ...

Pula...briefly

... s. Walk up to the Venetian Citadel, and everything is still quiet - it is still only 8am, and walk down and discover the centre, which is now coming to life. Nevertheless, decide not to stay here - I've pretty much seen everything in a morning, and so catch the bus to Rovinj, 40 minutes away. Looks pretty in the distance, and find tourist agency to find me a room ...
