      ... here. Leaving the beach behind, we struck out to evaluate the island's limited walking paths. A relatively easy circuit has been laid out, connecting 6 different signboards giving information about various aspects of the island's natural attractions.

      ... to carry away the salt; when the ships arrived in St. Maarten, the stones were dumped and the ships were loaded with salt. Slaves took the dumped ballast stones up the hill and built a church from them.

      It was an interesting stop for the end of our trip. When we leave the next stop is Ft. Lauderdale, then home. I will be glad to get home and see the grandchildren again, but first I have to finish packing ...

      ... we went back to the boat and Stepane explained to me that the French guys asked him if he would take them out on his boat tomorrow to a nearby island with some of their friends and that they would provide lunch and that he could bring some friends too.
