    ... was also an old hut that the workers that built the road had lived in and a memorial to those that had died during the construction. The tunnel at the top had icicles in it from water that had been dripping. At 5.00 pm it was 1.5C.

    We stayed the night just at the bottom of the road in a car park as it was starting to get dark.

    I have been around the passes in this area on many occasions i just decided to
    have a quick trip down Podroy pass and then head down Valparola and head for
    that lovely hotel away out in the sticks under the Dolomites near Brixen. The

    ... threw our wet clothes into a corner and poured ourselves into the bath. A thick hot chocolate and a ham and cheese panini later and all was well.
