... or just has the same name... The drive up it was pretty crazy, it was a little bendy road up the side of the mountain. It went past a waterfall which was mostly frozen over and was very impressive. We also took a gondola there to the top of the mountain from where we were practicing but we didn't ski down because it looked very steep! We have our rental stuff for another day so I think we are going up another slope tomorrow to give that a shot.

... br> not right and that is that the road appears to be closed and nothing been on it
for a long time. It was covered in leaves with a few stones off the side of the
cliff mixed in with them. I could see a few tyre marks here and there but other
than that it did not look used at all.
Onwards I head up this rather slippery road taking in the great scenery as
I go. Finally there is a cable car station which takes passengers up to the top

This was the only place in the village where actually one could wine and dine, so we were the only tourists, surrounded by the locals who were already checking us out from the moment we stepped in the place.

Trip from Salzburg to Lienz via Grossglockner

A travel blog entry by klooser on Sep 19, 2014

Weather sunny, very warm. Left Salzburg 10am, had a beautiful drive with colourful scenery to the toll gate for the Grossglockner Alpenhochstrasse. Leonie made the following observation of the magnificent drive: Not for those who do not like heights! Rally revheads behind the wheel of Porsche, and any others that go fast were a sight to behold and to get away from No marmots graced the hills with their ...

... br> parallel to the main motorway (which appeared to be elevated on concrete piers
most of its route). The motorway was busy and even the local road was busy, Not
pleasant driving. This is a main north-south arterial route.

Stopped at Camping Corones. Luxurious site, with heated
sanitary facilities and a heated outdoor pool, but somehow we did not like it.
Full of Germans and very “ordered” parking.
