... br> Unzipping the world at 7.30am revealed no worse than an early chill, some beautiful low lying mist, and blue sky sunshine. And Austria, gorgeous Austria, a hidden gem indeed. But one we were due to leave. Austria on the cheap, you can't beat it. And now I've seen it it's hard to imagine never coming back. In fact, I could live there.

Once on the road, however, the days perspective changed somewhat. The sat nav doesn't work in Slovenia or Croatia! Help! ...

I therefore volunteered for "tail end Charlie" again. Hopefully to ride at my own pace and enjoy myself. We headed South East from Pontresina to Bernina ...

... or course they count the stop for a beer. I know I mentioned Eros Poli in a previous blog, but I have to tell you how magnificent he real is. So Leslie and I were assigned to Eros with a few other guest. I got off to a great start, and never really seen Eros most of the day. He did catch me on the nasty climb in the 138 k route. But he was magnificent for Leslie, road with her to the finish of the 55 k route. He heard I had past the other guides and guests , and he chased me ...

Exciting times here in Corvara. Maratona dles Dolomites is tomorrow, start time is 6:30 am for the first group, not sure where we are in the starting groups, going to be interesting getting 9000 cyclist going. Simple ride today, just up the first 400 m climb of the Maratona. I thought there was a massive amount of cyclist on the road, going up and down, but was told ...
