      Dolomites to Paris

A travel blog entry by jtate on Jan 21, 2015

Today we woke early to have breakfast before our taxi came to take us to the train station. We were running a tad late due to the overly relaxed concierge and when we arrived at the station were in trouble for being only 2 mins early for the bus. To add to the pressure we had to pay the taxi driver the fee of €25 which would have been fine if we had the cash or had time to go to the ATM. Instead we had a €10 note and coins adding up to another €10. He ...

... received the invoice for the ski equipment and clothing hire. To my absolute shock he was charging us €100 euro for the hire of the ancient onesie and my large pants for two days! I was absolutely shocked! We could have bought some for that! Personally I felt we should be charging them for making us wear the ridiculous clothing! I had to get my card to pay and went up to see Ash in the room. She was just as shocked! I decided to go down and talk to him ...

      The Dolomites

... It was magic! We stopped up here and had a hot chocolate, which was literally melted chocolate- thick and creamy with cream on top! Delicious! Here we planned the next route to take to get us back to the bus and from here there was a slight red run(medium difficulty) to a blue run(easy difficulty) that would take us to where we would have lunch. We asked a few people if it was difficult and they said it wasn't too bad. We left the ...

      Venice to the Dolomites

A travel blog entry by jtate on Jan 18, 2015

... I did a big lap of the town, it was -4deg, and had no luck finding the office. After asking for directions a few times and following them in a round about way to no avail then asking for more directions leading me back to the bus stop where ash was waiting I was starting to get a bit frustrated! Eventually we noticed a big Ski Pass sign staring us right in the face across the road from the bus station... If only I ...

... out are from roman times. There was also a haunted castle. I was surprised how big the town is, I was expecting more of a little village but its actually more of a city. We have a nice little apartment here which looks out over the mountains so we got settled in for the day and then had a walk around in search of food. Unfortunately they had a public holiday (maybe advent ending?) so we ended up getting food from the servo.

      Then ...
