    ... the oldest bridge. Today it is a pedestrian bridge, but originally, it was lined with butcher shops who used the river to dispose of their waste. When the Medici’s built on the other side of the river, they ousted the butcher shops and installed shops selling gold and silver that still remain today.     ... next to where I am staying, and I had forgotten that I meant to visit that. So it closed at 7.30 tonight, and the one I was currently in closed at 11pm. So I could have done them both if I had thought about it. Never mind, I really probably have had enough.

    ... up to say hello (to the twin) we were met by confusion (by all of us) and us speaking English and him telling us (in Italian) that he didn't speak English. Thankfully, his bilingual assistant (later learned she was the daughter/niece) explained to us that "this is the brother of Andrea, a twin!" We all had a laugh and it was nice to keep running into the same shopkeepers near the hotel who were friendly and never pushed us to buy anything at all. Just nice, genuine people.
