... guide to get a stamp at a church in Vente - another village with a couple of cafés and finding the lovely little church there is no way it would be open which is the same for all the little churches along the way. Decided on lunch at the next village and walked all the way though accompanied at one stage by a group of dairy cows - little stressed out at this stage as my phone froze when taking a photo of the little church and had remained frozen. ... the Black Plague and was forced to leave his village, but his faithful dog would scavenge for food each day in the village and return to his master with the food. It seems some of the village folk wee cured of the plague and this was attributed to Roque. And so the story goes. What is interesting is how he is represented in art. I will attach some photos of St Roque and let you be the judge.

... He had been walking the camino from portugal to santiago to st jean de pied then back to germany. WOW...he was amazing. He told us that day was his birthday. 82 years, fit and amazing. I had a bug bar of chocolate in my pack and 6 of us cekebrated his day.
