Bitola, Macedonia, -+-389-(0)-47-229-406
Hallo zusammen,

Bitola, Macedonia schwateHallo zusammen,

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/a s_australia_dust_storm
Ohrid, Macedonia schwate... relatively comfortable. The bus ride to Bitola was grueling. The A/C wasn't working, and although it wasn't very hot outside, the bus was like an oven. Thankfully the ride was brief and we arrived in Bitola about 5 pounds lighter after loosing all that water. To compensate for the discomfort, the view on the short trip was amazing. The forested mountains were stunning and just started to show a hint of fall colors. As we ...
Bitola, Macedonia balkans2009... of the country include : 1/4 of the population is Albanian, of which a large number are refugees of the Balkan wars, it wears a strange name as its historical one is put under some sort of copyright by Greece, and it's know to export smart and beautiful girls to Australia (says Joel). We set our headquarter in Marija's aunt apartment in Bitola, from where, in parallel to visiting Marija's family, we explored the most famous places of the ...
Bitola, Macedonia jdelmaire... favorite churches. Usually that would not be saying much, but at the rate I'm going- approximately three religious buildings everyday in Eastern Europe, that's one of my favorite out of 180 synagogues, temples, mosques, and churches (and counting). Ohrid was an episcopal center for Macedonia; this city alone has 365 churches, one for every day of the year. And when ...
Bitola, Macedonia lilyc... and frankly, they were just another batch of ruins for all I could see. It's hard to get excited about fairly run-of-the-mill remnants of antiquity after you've been to Rome, Pompeii and Athens. Arles or Nimes maybe, but Bitola comes up short in that regard. What had me even more convinced it was a waste though was the ridiculous admission arrangement: 100MKD for entry, but 500MKD for a camera (eh?) and 1000MKD for a video recorder. You've got to be joking! A ...
Bitola, Macedonia xerius... is about fifteen kilometers wide, thirty long and the border runs right down the middle. On a clear day, it is easy to see the other side, because the lake is in an ancient crater and hills rise around it on all sides. In that story, there is a submarine in the lake, and we talked about if one would bother with putting a submarine in a landlocked lake. Critics panned the story, but I think that I found the place of its inspiration. But enough about Tintin. On a hill in Ohrid ...
Ohrid, Macedonia fatduck... was quite dark and we couldn't look around for lack of light. Goran chatted with us for a while about his visit to the monastery and our travels. He was floored that we had actually visited Kosovo. Goran has nothing against regular Albanians, but Kosovars are different, since he has taken great offence by what the KLA army has done to Orthodox churches in its territory (having vandalised some, burned others... see my previous entries on Kosovo. I myself render no ...
Prilep, Macedonia fatduck... along the walls, and down below, the local version of Time Team were doing some digging, and thats when they found it. Not our LP, but an old skeleton. It was pretty cool watching them dig it out. So we hung around taking more photos. That was the highlight of a very sad day First thing, the next morning, we jumped into a taxi, and headed over to the other side of the lake. We wanted to see a church called Sveti Naum before we headed over to Albania. A local cafe looked after our bags ...
