We had a fun evening on Sunday celebrating our win with the crack crew - and then saying our farewells to those still around Monday morning. We headed out about 3 aiming to get through the Oranjesluizen lock and the Schellingwouder lifting bridge before it closed for the rush hour between 4 and 6. Sadly as we exited the lock the bridge - which had been open - shut and we ended up spending 2 hours tied up waiting for the 6 ...

You do not want to go for a swim in the canals as there is about a metre of rubbish on the bottom of them, lots of discarded bikes and about fifty dead bodies are found each year. In Amsterdam there is a big different between a cafe and a 'coffee shop'. 'Coffee Shop' is code for marajana seller. Contrary to popular ...

... front of the line when we arrived at 7.45am.

Once we were finally admitted into the building, it was obvious to me that it was going to be an emotional experience. I'd read The Diary of Anne Frank several times during my school days, but being there where the words were actually written added a completely new dimension to the story for me. The crowd slowly filed from room to room, taking in the words Anne had written, observing artefacts ...
