... our guide told us that monkeys have the same immune system as humans so we were asked to cover our hands in anti-bacterial gel so we didn't infect the little monkeys with anything. It was so amazing being in there with them. I even stroked the fingers of one of them as he lay on his little branch. It was so bizarre as their fingers where so remarkably the same as ours. Went to the port today with the logistics team. They have a small office there and so visit once a week. It was about a three hour drive but the scenery was really beautiful, lots of forest covered hills, mountains and rivers. It's such an amazingly green country. ... saw gorgeous beaches, beautiful resorts and yoga retreat centres. We stopped to watch some surfers brave the waves over the reefs and were amazed to see and hear the howler monkeys in the trees along the way.

... Costa Rica right up until two days ago then "leave" with us on 12/12/12. Clever.. and deadly!!! (not really)

The van drops us in Puerto Viejo so we grab a snack and some supplies and take a public bus up to the Sloth Sanctuary. Negotiating the ticket purchase offers a little communication challenge but the ride is easy right up until Julie sees the place slipping behind us and we pull the cord.
