... and most of the coastline was damaged. Take a look at the pictures and video to get a better idea of what it looks like today. We could get a sense that it was once a beautiful waterfront, with piers and buildings and snack stands. But that all lies in ruin today, with a sad amount of trash washing up on the shore and the small beach area we found.

We rise to the sound of the pitter patter sounds of the rain splashing down on the plants outside our window. The room to ourselves allowed for a good night sleep and the rain certainly made it a much more peaceful night. We head out for breakky and cook up some eggs on toast. In the afternoon, we read and watch the sea go by. We have attended a few sessions on what there is to do in the various ports of call.

I go to a Pilates class a 4 pm. I am now able to touch my knees – note not toes – but knees – working my way down to my shins – should make that in a couple of years with any luck.

... pounding of waves, the intoxicating scent of flowers, the steady stream of reggae beats, the sudden flash of color as a brilliant tropical bird flies by, are all capable of stopping one in their tracks to absorb it all. Except for the taxis that occasionally scream by, the word "frenetic" has no place here. ... Mar y Sol" and it looked small and not great (as rocking Js), BUT... why not try it? It's close to the National Park (Refugio-Nacional / Guandoca-Manzanillo) which has a tons of things to do and has several interesting long hikes. I might do that.
