Arrived at Linz today which is the third largest city in Austria. Population 200,000, and is home Austria's largest steel company. From here we travel in the historic Majestic Emperor train to Salsberg. The train is very ornate and gives you an idea of what it was like to travel in style so many years ago. We had a coach trip around the city and then a walking tour followed by 2 hours free time. We had ...

We continued on and passed from Austria into Germany. There were only 20 of us still left on the ship, so lunch was quite a different experience and we got to meet some new passengers. There was a wide variety of food tonight, washed down with German beer and South African ...

Love it here in Passau. Our last stop in Germany. Our guide who was French told us that Hitler fell in the river here as a young child and someone saved him. Pity. The old town is beautiful. They have a problem with flooding as they are on a peninsula with 3 rivers. The Danube, the Inn and the Iltz. A lot of the buildings have had to have all the plaster removed and replaced to second floor ...

... tour included lunch in a cavernous, dark restaurant. We had fresh trout which we enjoyed, but the wine was very bland.
Cesky Krumlov is my favorite medieval town thus far- indeed, the entire day was a highlight of the tour for me. I think that being over my ailment was a contributing factor to my enjoyment.
I'm actually finishing this blog off on Friday but hope to get today's blog off to you by tomorrow morning.
