Today we had a boat trip on Lake Como and the went off on the bus to Milan.

The lake is very pretty, with mountains all around. Anthony said it was 'Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous' because the guide pointed out all the fancy Villas and told us who owned them. Today we left Venice, visited Switzerland and then settled into our little villa in Como.

We stopped off at Verona on the way and saw Juliet's balcony. You go through a little tunnel that is covered in lots of names and messages. Then you come to a little courtyard with a balcony in one corner. A nice little side visit, but a bit of a tourist fabrication as far as I could see. ... 8230;it was amazing. We stopped at a local restaurant /bar and ordered some prosciutto/melon/cheese and bread as well as some wine and beer….perfect!!!

After we finished our very late lunch we called the hotel and they advised us that they would send someone down to pick us up…so while waiting, we took in the local scenes including a remote mini-helicopter that had a camera attached to capture all underneath it…again…GREAT!!!

... or lack of current knowledge regarding a few that we encountered today. So we had a few unplanned excursions off of our designated route. But that’s the beauty of Carmen she just re-calculates the route and off we go. We are driving up the eastern shore of Lake Como tomorrow heading for the small town of Varenna and beyond.
