... about 1 hour on the boat. There is residential along the shoreline and half way up the mountain most of the way around the lake, the further we get away from Como although it begins to thin out and clear townships can be seen.
Menaggio is, like all the other towns, a holiday destination and at this time of year most of the places are closed. We find somewhere to have lunch and then spend the afternoon wandering through the alleyways ...

We arrived in this beautiful city at dusk so we weren't able to get the most out of it. Stayed there only for one hour and we spent that time in Parco Civico capturing the flickering lights of the city surrounded by mountains. The view from the shores of Lake Lugano was fascinating. ... It ended up being a winding road up the mountain curving around the entire thing. What we thought would take about 10 minutes, probably took a half an hour. However, we finally arrived at the castle, which was beautiful and had amazing views as well.

After spending time in the old city, we decided to go back to the lower city for dinner (we were very tired due to lack of sleep). We grabbed some pizza ...

      Rain, fog and another town

... so it was interesting trying to all talk!

The people here are very friendly and treat us more like old friends than just people staying here. It was very nice having dinner with them, we got to try some traditional Italian 'Polenta' which is like a porridge sort of stuff made out of grain. It was quite nice though I think they add cheese to it too. We also got to try some limonchella, which is like a very lemony flavoured liquor which they drink after ...
