The next morning I was sad to say goodbye to my parents as I headed back on the train to Madrid, they were off to Paris after Barcelona to continue their celebration of their 25th anniversary. I arrived back and had to get ready for my finals, which are luckily now all over.

I had such a great time studying in Madrid, and thankfully it's not over yet! Going to be doing a little more traveling, and of course, a little more blogging, so stay tuned!

We freshened up, did our hand washing, and went for a walk. La Rambla is a bit over a kilometre long and our hotel is at the southern end, nearest the waterfront. Barca won, there were no riots, everyone was happy and we went back to the apartment safe and sound.

We had intentions of walking to the local Olympic gardens & catching the cable car to the port, but by the time we had walked for an hr, it was 7.30pm the the service was closing down!! Plans changed so we walked to the beach where we sat for a drink & watched with plenty of activity to take our attention. Swimmers, skate boarders, rollerbladers, ...

... Molly and I sat down and nibbled on gyoza, edamame, and wafu tofu salad from a little Japanese shop. When I placed my order it was a hodge podge of English, Japanese, and Spanish: "Can I please get some gyoza to edamame to wafu tofu salada onegaishimasu, muchas gracias?" or some such nonsense. The lady behind the counter kind of smiled but just rolled with it. She informed me that if we wanted to sit in the tables outside in the plaza, we would need ...
