      ... around a couple of big motel complexes near the beach and they seemed to be closed up for the winter. This is obviously a place that accommodates 10's of thousands of people in the summer. A thousand tourists here now would be very scattered, which gives the place an initial eerie feeling.       ... It was a long but interesting drive a majority of it through the Carmague. I very nearly ran out of petrol but just as I must have been on fumes a petrol station appeared after 40 miles of not seeing one.

      About an hour out of Le Cap D'Agde, we hit bad weather and although the waterproofs did their job, it was a pretty miserable trip into Le Cap.
