    We thought we should have a look beyond Lyon for the day so headed for Chambery - 100km to the east. We scooted along the freeway with the masses of trucks and racing black BMW's [the latter believe they have a god given right to fly along at light speed].     Today was an early day. We had to meet in the hotel lobby at 7:25. The breakfast was the usual croissants and yogurt. They were pretty good though. We then got on a bus for a full day excursion to the Burgundy region.

    We arrived in Beaune around 9:30 after a lovely drive through the French countryside. This little village is just beautiful. The architecture is exactly what I would expect to see in a little French village.
