... and Archeology and her main interest is war history with focus on WWII. As I found out her dissertation deals with the Warsaw Uprising and its representation through the media in Communist times. Her granddad was part of one of the special units during the uprising. So who could be a better guide for me than her? Before we started with the two hour tour of the museum we went to the archive as she wanted to find out where one of here granddad's friends was buried. ...

18:00: taxi booked, garage locked, rucksacks overflowing, head torch batteries replaced and camera cards cleared. Anything we have forgotten?

20:15: leaving for the airport. Flying Polish LOT. 'Leaving On Time' we hope.

22:00: our taxi driver definately had tourettes which was a little scary. He hit every speed bump without slowing down and made strange finger movements in the air ...

... any stock except for a few cows. The crops growing are predominately corn- which is just being harvested- & some cereal & bean looking stuff. Half the land was under cultivation ready for planting. The machinery here looked quite old & they were using mouldboard ploughs about 6 ft wide. ... of two minute noodles, toast and coffee over a few games of Rummikub and Netrunner in the communal dining area. Desert was a chocolate fountain which the hostel provided as part of its themed nights, accompanied by a selection of fresh fruits and biscuits.
