... those who were killed. Chairs are facing the directions where most people were sent. Children and elderly were in the most danger in ghetto. Responsibility, people who knew of people hiding Jews or people with guns, were killed as well as those wo did the wrong. ... and the entire dinner was served and eaten in complete darkness. It was an interesting experience, although I would not do it again. I realized how much of a meal is visual.

We ate a lot of fish and beef. We did have one vegetarian in our group, and she always got a lot of cheese in her main dish.

... actually don't know what to expect. We have travelled, but it's always been to more 'developed' regions and civilised places such as 'Europe' and 'America'. Thailand, although a tourist mecca, is a dip into an unknown culture for us. Hence the first aid kit we're taking which is equipped with antihistamine tablets, diarrhoea medication and liquid bandage spray to help prevent humidity induced infections spreading like wild fire through our bodies. ...
