Yahoo ! I asked for a fine night and that's exactly what we had. The evening was clear and we were able to sit in tshirts only. Huge difference to the last Tattoo I attended where it poured with rain and was freezing cold.

There were of course quite a few large groups of schoolkids and other tourists, which kind of put us off lingering too long in one spot, but we had to bear in mind that we, too were one of their number, so we had to grin and bear it.

... those in our dorm may or may not have gotten off to a shaky start, but by the morning we had we more than introduced ourself to the group. Through the guise of a killer hangover, Scotland still looked amazing as we travelled through the highlands exploring Lochs, the battlefield in Culloden, multiple castles and a poorly timed Whisky Distillery (no whisky was consumed on risk of projectile morning sickness). ... hostel for a little bit then went to an Italian restaurant for dinner. I had a salad, cider, and then ordered coffee and dessert but didn't realize how huge the dessert was! The restaurant had awards for "The Best Ice Cream in Edinburgh" so I wanted to try it, but it was massive. Ended up eating it all though :/ couldn't let good ice cream go to waste!
