We change at Parma and have time to have hair if the dog and I get a ghastly veggie burger. Bad bad bad choice! Then back on the train we roll through the wonderful Tuscan countryside, which in many respects is more beautiful than the Alps. Lloyd and I make full use of my iPod splitter lead and share tracks of our band and other all-time indie classics. My god I have such ...

No big sights to see and no big decisions to make. The food here is really good, lots of fresh fish, pesto, focaccia, and a very good local white wine. Which reminds me, it is almost dinner time. Tomorrow I head for Torino. So until my next post - ...

... wall! The last few carriages didn’t make it onto the platform and with our backpacks we wouldn’t have fit between the train and the wall. So we bolted through the train, struggling to open the broken doors, hoping the train would stay long enough for us to get off – only just. Lesson learnt, next time we’ll sit in the middle of the train.
