... the Roman Gate to the city and many buildings dating from the middle ages. We saw the beautiful St. Peter Cathedral which, unlike many we’ve seen so far, did not have scaffolding around it. After the tour was over we returned to the cathedral to go inside. There has been a church of some sort on this siite since 700. An earlier church burned down and the construction of this started in 1280 and wasn’t finished ...
Regensburg, Bavaria, Germany tucsonjohn... broken down and gotten McDonald's several times, but it is always nice to grab something familiar. I'm watching myself though, not going too often. And having Starbucks at the Munich train station was a highlight of my week! So good.
I've been making tons of friends here. The other students in my program are awesome. Kelsa and I live right next to each other so it is easy to hang out with her. Billy and Steve live just a few minutes walk away, so we all hang out ...
... could go into the history of Regensburg, but you could also look that up on the internet, so if you feel compelled to know, please do so :D
The rest of our time was spent getting settled into our new places. We went shopping almost everyday for things that you just have to have (it kills me to buy a swiffer here when I have one at home, but my floors NEEDED to be cleaned). We also TRIED to ...

Regensburg's most famous attraction is the Steinerne Brücke (Stone Bridge, see pic) over the Danube River which dates from 1146. At the end of this bridge we met an archaeoligst who was digging up the street to learn more of the bridge itself and how the ...

Today, everyone from the program got up and went on a boat ride to a site called the Wahalla, which is a replica of the Parthenon. It was a nice, peaceful ride with great company. The sun was out, it was just an absolute lovely day. When we got to the site, we had to climb many steps, but it wasn't anything new for me, I'm quite used to climbing steps these days. We walked around for a while, then went inside to see the busts and sculptures inside. We then trecked ...
Regensburg, Bavaria, Germany ab10... toilet, and shower (yay for non community bathrooms!). I really do love my room. It is nice and big, in a convenient location, and has a nice view of the top of the dome and a cute little alley way/street that opens to a square. And did I mention how big my room is? Apparently it is one of the largest the program has! I will eventually do a video blog on the dorm rooms here, including the other options as well, so you will be able to see more then. For now, some pictures will have to do.
Regensburg, Bavaria, Germany ab10... a nice breakfast of toast, butter, jam, eggs, and yogurt with honey (a traditional Greek dish). It was actually pretty good (I’ve grown to appreciate a simple bread and butter breakfast) and filled me up.
I landed in Munich and was very excited. I would be greeted by my program director after baggage claim, then off to Regensburg (or so I thought). I exited the plane, went to baggage claim, and was excited to see my bag third on the ...
