A wander through Adam and the hood

Our first day here we got our bearings and walked...a lot actually.

Adam was dirty for a busy Saturday night when we got in Sunday morning. My Dutch friend was right...it does feel dirty. In stark contrast to the meticulously clean Tokyo, Adam felt dirty with rubbish in the streets everywhere. By yesterday morning, Monday, it was a little tidier.

Everywhere is so close to get to. The centre of town a mere 15 -20 minutes ...

Laugh in the city of joyful sin

Is there a city to challenge Barcelona? Yes, and it is Amsterdam. They have got everything right. The city is designed for pedestrians and bicycles, the trams are fantastic, and every street is virtually a shopping mall. Interesting history, great museums and a greater percentage of beautiful women than anywhere else in the world (they are everywhere). There is so much to do in Amsterdam, you ...

... The park is beautiful, but being a really nice day it was full of people sun baking like they would at the beach! There we also found another set of Amsterdam letters with ************e climbing on, so we climbed on them and got our pictures. We spent the afternoon looking through the tulip market (never seen so many tulips and bulbs) and numerous souvenir shops. We went back to the hostel for dinner, had a few beers with an American couple (Ali and Sam), American guy ...

    The Grand European Tour Begins

A travel blog entry by quachie on Dec 12, 2013

Whether it's the excitement of commencing my tour today or difficulties adjusting to the time zones, I find myself waking up at 3am again. I gather it's a combination of both. At the hotel, formalities occur as luggages are stored, people are paired up and passports are stamped. After about a 2.5hour travel, we reach the English Channel and board a P&O cruise to Calais. During this travel time, I ...
