This was supposed to be a 1/2 day outing..........but We started early in the morning after a lovely salad, grilled vegetables, sausage ( from yesterday), ham and egg breakfast. Sue cooked up a storm! We had heard that we needed to park outside the city wall for the day and walk in. Paid parking of course as car spaces are at a premium. We enjoyed the beautiful sunny clear morning drive but were not expecting the traffic, narrow windy streets and congestion of outside of the wall. It was ...

This morning we both woke up full of beans. Personally I took a bit to get out of bed but once up with some teeth brushing nothing could stop me it seemed. While it did have this caging, I was really scared. There was nothing secure enough for me to hold ...

A lot of people told me that Pisa was rather boring. I cannot tell you how many times I heard "Well, there's the tower, and once you see it, that's about it." As a result, I went to Pisa with little expectations of whether I would like it or not and…well…I loved it.

It was absolutely the perfect day. On a scale of 1 to 10, the weather was about a ...

... but miraculously it started to clear as we descended on the town. Parking was easy, all signposted nice and clearly and only about 250m from the Campo del Miracoli or Field of Miracles, where the Leaning Tower of Pisa (Torre Pendente) is.

Now one thing I never realised, mainly because all the pictures I have ever seen of this tower have shown it alone, is that it is right next to a massive cathedral. The Leaning Tower of Pisa is, ...
