... Of course the place is crawling with hawkers and buskers. We had about an hour to tackle the climb up the tower if you wanted (we didn't think we'd make it) or just wander and take it all in (we did). Then yet another local, Italian guide, for 3/4 hour, which included a tour of the cathedral. We have had fabulous guides and Roberto was no different (see photo - Michael D you have a long lost brother in Italy!!). Speaking 8 languages, and with a ...

We hit the road just after 5pm and carried on to find our apartment near Volterra just after 6pm. ... have saved 3.50 euro. There was no price difference where we ate the sweeties and drunk our coffee. Go figure? It still only worked out at 10 euro each, including coffee for very tasty, quality, but not over filling lunch. Live and learn LOL.

We carried on towards the tower taking one wrong turn around the old town wall but it was a scenic route. When we did spot the tower (as shown in the photo from street view) we ...

It's time for another full day of touring. There are a series of 5 small towns along the Mediterranean Sea that are connected by a train and trails. Before the train, the trails were the only way to access these cities. In case your not surprised, it was another day of 93 degree temperature and a beautiful sunny day.

Alarm went off at 5:15 am so we could get to ...
