Field Trip! To Bern, Switzerland

... program where we have to do a large research project on the topic of our choice, but have to incorporate research, field study, and interviews with experts. My current plan for my ISP is to research how International Law and International Human Rights Law can be invoked to make the goal of Universal Primary Education a reality. Under the convention on the human rights of the child, every child has the right to an education, the problem is that of access and ...

Notes about Swiss

... The Hangover), and half-way through they had a break. People got up and 15 mintues later the movie proceeded.

-All the coins look the same. The Swiss are not part of the EU thus don't use the Euro. They use Swiss Franks. And they have 5,2,1,1/2,20 cents, and 10 cents. They are all silver in color and look the same when pulled out. The 5 and 2 are pretty big and are easy to spot. For some reason the 1/2(50 cents) are the smallest coin ...

One: Of the more substantial German cities, Frankfurt is, in my opinion, the hands-down winner. Two: For a place that unexpectedly touched me on this trip, Vienna takes the cake. These things considered, three: If cities were people, I would have a serious crush on ...

fairytale castles, rainy cities + goodbyes

... the Chateau de Chillon, an 11th cent fairytale castle on the edge of the lake, full of dungeons, classic furniture, armour and weapons etc. We even got shown one of the beds used in the old times, it was a 4 poster but it was tiny, and there was a skirting board around the outside so you couldnt even dangle your legs off the side if you wanted to! The castle itself was pretty cool, I havent seen an actual medievil castle yet so this was my first experience. On the way back home ...

Hello everyone, we do still exist! We have been hanging out in Sunny Switzerland for the last week and a half. A brief update: - The morning we left the Faroe Islands, it was a beautiful sunny day. When we arrived at Copenhagen, it was raining (seems to be our luck). - We then caught the train to Hamburg. We spent 3 nights here. It was a very nice place with a culture that reminded us Fitzroy in Melbourne (except of course for the Reahperbahn). We also got some ...

That said, Switzerland is still a place where someone can give you a lift to the shops and ask 'which language would you like me to speak in?) But back to farmhouses. The building is now Einstein-Haus and entry was 2 swiss francs. There in lies a short story... Because Switzerland has four official languages (French, German, Italian and Ratoromansch - a dialect) they have to use CH as the official tag because Latin's the only language they could agree on.
