Hotel Michael Sentosa Island

Nach 12 Stunden Flug haben wir endlich Singapur erreicht, und gleich gehts weiter nach Sydney. Sind schon ganz durcheinander mit den Zeitzonen... Gerade gab es noch Fruestueck nach deutscher Zeit, jetzt kriegen wir gleich Abendessen nach asiatischer Zeit... aber Hunger haben wir trotzdem ...

Another trait of the long bar, apart from its wonderfully wooden-brown bar and green lights, was the fact they served monkey nuts on the tables, and we could simply discard the waste on the floor. Having more of an idea what we were in for we proceeded towards the Department of Medicine at the National University Hospital. The exterior of the hospital is quite ugly but inside it was a buzzing, clean place. We have swam alot in the condo pool, have had dinner at an asian restaurant well some did - Carly and I had trouble finding something. Dinner out is very costly here as everything is, accomodations and vehicles - almost $50,000 canadian for the smallest car - a Hundai which would propbably be very cheap at home. I know I have been neglecting my blogging lately. The lab has been sucking most of my time and energy. The scary part? I'm not even done "learning" yet, I'm still running the trial part- once I know that my reaction will go, that's when I start my actual research project. So anyway, Sentosa island! ... how great it was. Everyone talks about how good the food in Singapore is, and let me tell you, it is that good. I was running out of time in Singapore as the sun was starting to get lower in the afternoon sky. Of course, the hike and our two hour lunch was more than worth it. I didn't want to leave. ... the most southerly point on mainland Asia, nothing fancy, just a tree-house lodge! Sorry if my review of Sentosa gives it a bad impression, but it really isn't that fantastic. Okay it is good for young children but thats about it! The only thing it is missing (in Singapore standards) is a shopping mall, but it was nice to go the whole day without coming across one (this from a girl who has a hard time leaving shops). x

After the beach we rinsed off in the nice shower facilities available and walked over the nearby Fort Siloso for a tour.
