So this was a great idea in summer

So just to get things straight. .. in spring I had a student who told me all about her amazing cycle trips around europe and how much fun they were. Long story short, she inspired me and jan to try this out ourselves. Because we worked all summer, and summer was hot, we decided that autumn would be the best time to do this trip. As ...

Friday 2nd October And after a minor panic as I'd thrown the return Train tickets to Tasch in the bin, thinking to lighten the load in my purse by getting rid of any surplus bits of paper etc. (tickets found and the missing parking ticket with them) we set off to the train station to Tasch and the parked vans. limits are reduced.

          The
other thing I enjoy about this road is that it is full of old railway tunnels
and stations etc. At one point I stopped and checked out a old tunnel which has
yet again been converted for cyclists and then just after that ...

On 9/26 we again deviated from our original plans in order to travel back Guarda to see the festivities involved in bringing the cows down to lower pastures for the winter. Before the parade we heard two men playing alpenhorns for the waiting crowd. Horses led the parade of decorated cows down through the main street of town. The cow who had ...

Yearly change measurements have been recorded since 1878 with an average retreat from 1999 to 2015 of some 30 m/year (98 ft). Very sobering. We walked .... kilometres from the Morteratsch train station to finally reach the base of the glacier. In our last post we told you about our aborted attempt to visit the Benina Diavolezza after ...
