2 hours in Monaco

ok, it was more "collecting a new country" than being really interested in Monaco. Strange, when you go there from Nice airport by bus it costs you 18 € one way, when you go from Nice bus terminal it costs 1 € one way. Monaco is a very clean city. I have never seen so many big and expensive cars. I saw the casino and the castle. Nice, but not spectacular.

Nice

I know I always write the same...great weather, such a nice city, good food....but I have to say that Nice was a (very) big surprise for me, I can say that it is my favourite city in Europe (ok, number 2 after Lisbon). You have the mountains, the Cote dŽAzur (when you see the water you know why the name is Cote dŽAzur), the market with fresh vegetables, fruits, honey, oil, soap, you have great restaurants ...

Less than 4 weeks to go.....

... gesture. We can't change the world but we can change the way these children start off in life and who knows where that will lead....

It is less than 4 weeks now until I leave. There is much to do. I am trying to prepare myself for "teaching" 20 - 25 children. A bit of a challenge that. Much as I have known that I have always wanted to do something like this, now that it ...

Boring drive day so here is life in Scooby

Keeping Clean... the shower offensive Scooby is only the size of a delivery van... 4.8m Long and 2.3m Wide... fits snuggly into a shopping car park space. Height is not an issue as he is 2.6m tall so plenty of room for us shorties! The point is that space on the inside is at a premium, so the shower is "cosy"... but it does the job. Best of all we have a gas water boiler so the water is HOT HOT HOT!! We need to fill up our water tank every few days as there is only enough ...

... curly so it really isn't surprising that accidents are a regular occurrence.

Monaco is the world's second smallest country (after Vatican City) less than 2 square km, but what it lacks in size it makes up for in decadence! Streets are manicured, lavish hotels and casinos line the waterfront, and the harbour is chock a block with gigantic, plush boats.

Once we arrived we visited the Palais du Prince (or ...

Day Spas, 4 Stars (but no celebs) and Pebbley Bums

... at least 20) everything from lemon to vanilla, creme caramel, raspberry, nougat and fig! We munched on our teeny treats and decided we'd had enough sightseeing for the day and it was time to head home.

Although we would have liked to do a similar day trip to Monaco and Cap d'ail, the weather was a bit ****** the next few days and the majority of the sights at these spots were the awesome beaches, plus we needed some chill time too. Gotta save something for next time right? And of ...

A playground for the rich and famous - Monaco!

... recommend it. Since the buses run on liquid gold it would be rude not to try it too.

Wandering through the quaint streets of Monaco-Ville showed another side to the principality, something of a feeling of homeliness, an inviting side that escapes the obvious and somewhat intimidating wealth of the Monte Carlo Casino and the Café de ...

Contiki Day 5: French Riviera and Monaco

We were staying at some place located in a town in between two larger towns, which may have been called Biot but I'm only stealing that from my location sheet and I don't think I believe it. I think we may have been on a property with a small farm next to it? And a fair just down from that? I do remember there being a lot more vineyards, and some ocean, which was a new development. We headed into Monaco, which is the second ...

Nice!!

... that it felt like we were at home and knew lots of the people at the bar already!.. After the bar closed at 2 am, we headed to another club called the blue whale and hung out there until 4:30.. came home and went to bed!... Then.. Saturday we went to Monaco/Monte Carlo and checked out the casino, the cars, and the coast. Nothing THAT special though. We both like nice a lot better. After, we went to check point.. .again... with these 2 model ...

Very Nice, how much?

... help them sing sweet child of mine which was pretty cool. Every time you bought a drink at the bar, they would give you a little glow stick to go with it. Lets just say i ave quite a collection for the scrapbook. We had a very late night and it was again lucky that ricky was there to guide us home because we were all pretty trashed. I woke up the next morning with the flue plus a pretty big hangover. Lucky we had the whole day to ...
