Zermatt and the lovely Matterhorn

A travel blog entry by t-l-c

Zermatt

When we arrived at our hotel in Zermatt, the hotel manager treated us like long lost relatives, telling us off for walking to the hotel and said that we should have called and he would have colllected us from station... so nice and what a welcome to Zermatt. In the evening Ana and Stefan had a fab meal with Milagros in Pully - gorgeous evening out and the summer just keeps on giving.

I decided to take the cog railway up to Gornergrat which is at 3089m. Zermatt is also home to the highest gondola in europe and you can also do summer skiing here. The views from Gornergrat where spectacular. From here you can see 29 peaks with a quite a few that are over 4000m. There was no one climbing the Matterhorn as it ...
