This is definitely the worst campground we have stayed at. Next time we will remember and take our time to visit the shower-house before we pay. It was to dirty to use. The ground was covered with little pickers that stuck to my shoes, one even came through my shoe to poke me. Oh well, live and learn.
Clint, Texas, United States ironworker025... were a tourist. Kamala and Charley drove me to the border, Nancy had come over to help with the bikes and matt was waiting on the Mexican side. His permit ran out on the day they left. Once over I got a 180 day permit and the three of us made away back to the hotel. Matt and Nancy taking turns at running and riding on there one bike.

It was instantly a chance of scenery, US to Mexico, just a bridge over the border and you’re in a third world country. The joke was this city ...
Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico jeydoublesyou... a place across from that which had beer. So we had our $1.50 lunch, and our $.75 beer, and my friend got his shoes shined, and then we went on our way. I was weary of taking any pictures, because I didn't want to wind up in a jail somewhere with petty drug mules with swine flu. So I don't have too much to report. One day I will go back though, and I will have lots of pictures when it's safer for my type of half ass guerrilla photo journalism.

Zacatecas, Central Mexico and Gulf Coast, Mexico lobo... been on a Sunday during my travels; that would make for a good story. The reason that I mention this is that our ascent to the top of Cerro de la Bufa on a Sunday would have been another addition to that fabulous list. Of course the key ingredients to such a day are good weather and beautiful scenery. On this Sunday morning there was an overabundance of both as the photos will attest. While my assessment of Zacatecas came ...

Zacatecas, Central Mexico and Gulf Coast, Mexico lobo... 01 (494) 9452412. This centrally located budget hotel had a dozen or so great value rooms with cable TV. Its cheerful colourful interior, with nicely furnished rooms, welcoming staff and excellent rates make it worth spending a night. Their current rates were 200 + 250 Peso for 1 or 2 persons, but they immediately knocked 50 Peso off when I asked for a bit of discount. It’s impossible to pick ...
Jerez De Garcia, Zacatecas, Mexico amazingjourneys... as it was one of the spots in Mexico that I was most looking forward to. We cannot go as a result of the violent demonstrations that are taking place at the moment to oust governor Ulises Ruiz Ortiz...It started, as many violent demonstrations do, quite simply in the form of teacher strikes and has just escalated out of control. At this stage, Oaxaca citizens are practically being held hostage in their own city and no buses are going ...
Zacatecas, Mexico roro... We arrived back at Armando's starving and Armando made us some "sincronizadas", or quesadillas with ham inside. He told me that the cheese comes from a German Omish settled village in the middle of Chihuahua state, known for producing the best cheese of the region. Interesting. He also had me try a chipotle pepper that knocked my socks off and had him laughing at my lack of spice tolerance. Happy as a gringo clam, I retired for the night only to get a very restful night's sleep.
Cuidad Juarez, Mexico aloijos... rebels. He laughed. Of course by now I'm not too interested in the donkey shows or whatever it was that they used to have out at 'Boys Town,’ a place I only heard about through the barkings of of taxi drivers and other assorted facilitators. I remember distinctly the smell of bad gasoline, though, or maybe it was the lead they put in it.
