... climbing an almost vertical path to reach the top of the pass some 740 meters higher. Once again the weather was hot and we found ourselves dripping with sweat as we struggled to the top.

However all was not in vain as we were greeted by a stunning view of crystal clear lakes where we stopped for a picnic lunch.

... eventually arriving at Madulain where we were supposed to catch the train. On arrival we discovered that the train was going to take another hour before arrival, so decided to walk the two kilometers back to La Punt where we treated ourselves to an ice cream before boarding the bus back to Silvaplana.

In the evening Stef and Jan joined us for supper which consisted of chicken and salad.

After a good breakfast we set off back into the mountains of the Engadin Valley. The trip as always was very scenic and we arrived to a packed campsite since the European School holidays are now in full swing.

... Gruyeres which is famous for its cheese or so we thought. The village itself is a collection of old buildings full of souvenirs with lots of cow bells and cow emblazoned mugs, t-shirts and more. Not much cheese to be had which we thought was pretty strange. However there were plenty of tourists so after a quick visit we headed to our next destination. So far we'd found Switzerland a little unfriendly and expensive so we were keen to find ...
