... like a local at Centrale. 1 hour wait fro train to Genoa- an Intercity route costs 20€ for what suppose to be 90 min trip. Took over 2 hours. Passing through more flat farmland ( could have been in France) till we got to mountainous country and seems like one eternal town, but probably a series of towns. Lake. Como is large (actually two lakes converge ) deep blue , surrounded by mountains that climb directly from the lake. The homes that are built here all sit on uneven terrain, so lots of retaining walls, steps and more steps . We're staying at the Hotel Victoria, on the water and just spectacular. ... I had a Nicosia salad and for dessert fresh lemon meringue pie. Still driving were in a section of all flat land.
