... stayed 2 nights before coming to Cologne to see my brother. First big culture shock was on the street fest: so many people! So many different looking people, so terribly dressed, looking tired and sick, so white. I don't mean to be judging, don't get me wrong, that is how I felt, honestly. I instantly missed the healthy looking brown skin and similarity of the Indonesiands and the surroundings of Bali. There's not soo much to see and ...

In Amsterdam today we saw hundreds of bikes lined up against ...

The Great Saint Martin Church is a Romanesque Catholic church in Cologne, Germany. Its foundations (circa 960 AD) rest on remnants of a Roman chapel, built on what was then an island in the Rhine. The church was later transformed into a Benedictine monastery. The current buildings, including a ...

... for most of the trip. Upon arrival in Cologne, it was still dark, but I managed to find a cafe that had a pile of Berliners (the doughnuts, not the people) outside, and grabbed what was going to be the first of many coffees. After making sure I kept my strength up (it was the BEST jelly doughnut that I've ever had), I wandered around Cologne for a bit. Maybe I missed something, or maybe it was because of the grey weather, but I really didn't like it as much as ...
