I wasn't too sure what to really expect of Belgium. We had meant to come here on our last world trip back in 2008 but hadn’t managed to with one thing and another, and in the end all we did was go through on the train between Paris and Berlin. So pretty much what I was expecting was the things we know Belgium for back home, chocolates and beer. We got both of those in ample portions, plus a bunch of other stuff.

Brussels was fun. ...

... reason housekeeping wanted to start early and they claim they knocked. Really? Neither of us heard it and Vernon has pretty good hearing - the hotel explained that it was too early and they should not be doing rooms then anyway and apologised again.
Quite annoying as it simply should not have happened and I am selective as to who I am exposed to:-)

After that abrupt start to the day, it was time to pack for our travel burst across to Belgium. ...

Today we continued to explore the beautiful city of Brugge & started the day by climbing up the belfry. The climb to the top of the belfry is 366 steps up a very narrow, winding spiral staircase. The bells chimes on every hour but every quarter of an hour, something very special happens.
