Judging by the amount of likes any remotely travel-related post gets on Facebook, we think it's a wonderful, even enviable, way to spend one's time and money. But what is it about travel exactly that's so great? And is the answer in the being there or in the not being here?

All I know is that any kind of travel plans announced on Facebook always get an instant like from me. Swiftly ...
