... Most of the day I felt I had clearly left behind the canals and such of Holland, and instead I was in and out of flat forests and farms, mostly on low traffic roads. That changed in the evening as I crossed numerous rivers surrounded by pretty wetlands. ... until we reached Calais harbour. Here we boarded our Europe based bus and headed north for the short drive to Brugge. Good news for us is that tour is only half full (27 passengers) so there will be lots of room on the bus and as we do tours. We had a bit of a slow start to the day. After enjoying the hotel's breakfast (cereal, bacon and eggs, bread, gourmet cheeses, fresh fruit, and as many espressos as one could want - I had four), we packed up our things.
