... the city. In Valencia, things simply glisten in that Mediterranean sun.
It may be fall in most places out there (and winter in others...[cough] Czech Republic) but we're just not ready to settle into boots and coats. So we're off in a couple days to our last warm destination - Portugal. Of course I hear barnacles are a local treat here. Hmmmm...perhaps a culinary adventure this will not be.

... interested. They have a great complex- The City of Arts and Sciences which you can easily spend two whole days in. There's everything from dolphin shows to films on Egyptology.
Found the city to be a little quiet and not just as impressive as other spainish cities, such as Seville, but def worth a visit- especially if you can join it up with a feista- I would love to go back for La fallas.
... to find our hostel after wondering around the city (translation: we got so lost! The directions on the website were literally, walk through plaza, there will be steps on your right, and cross steps...apparently it's too much to put street names).
Once we actually found our hidden hostel, we were pleasantly surprised. This hostel was more like a hotel. It was incredible! We had ...
... highlights. I found out that this city is one of the most progressive cities in all of Europe for social justice, for example, there are reliefs maps all over the city with directions in braille for people to get around. That made a big impact on me.
After the walking tour, as a group we continued on to a tapas tour. We went to four different restaurants and got tapas and sangria ...
... the most messy, wet, slimy, and very very red event you will every go to. But it is one of the things everyone should experience at least once in their lifetime.
We begin our trip catching a 3hour train from Barcelona to Valencia. And spend the day exploring. People have mentioned that Valencia is a great place?? We would disagree, there is nothing WOW about this small city. We have been spoilt by cheap cocktails in ...
... the old riverbed into a park. So you can walk or cycle from the sea all the way to the outskirts of the city along the paths in the park. It is full of orange trees and very green. Such a nice place to have picnics and enjoy the sunshine. We were so lucky we had amazing weather all weekend. After checking out a lot of fallas in the streets, we wandered to the Mercado de Colon (a very upscale place with cafes and shops). We had a ...
Valencia, Valencian Country, Spain clandybar... town, Miami-ish type of vibe, although with lots of classic European and more modern architecture at the coast. After walking around the historical center of Valencia (Plaza del Ayuntamiento, Plaza de Reina, the bull-fighting arena), we went to the Valencia Cathedral and walked up the bell tower. It was a 200-step very winding staircase, and i wanted to die by the time we got to the top. Luckily we were rewarded by a beautiful view of the city and no ...

Valencia, Spain mexican_chilli... some points, but it was definately worth it. We spent a while wandering around the top and taking a bunch of pics, but finally headed down and as we needed to find some white clothes for me for Wednesday. So we headed off to the shopping part in town to see what we could find. Then back to the hotel, quick check of the email at the hotel, and directions to the hostel in Valencia, before ...
Valencia, Spain travelledkiwi... this time. I ran into a very drunk and very friendly Pancho (had never seen him like this before). Soon we ran into a street disco, where a stage and sound system had been set up in the street and people were dancing on the cobblestones. It was pretty cool. We got to try some churros too. Poor Ashley could not walk due to her new shoes, so this mobile partying was not a good idea, so we left after a while. The train was running 24 hours by this time.
