My boyfriend and I travelled throughout Italy together for two weeks in Summer 2004 after we graduated college. Our first (and last) stop was Milan. It was a pretty, clean and modern city, and it seemed the least touristy of all the places we visited in Italy. Although we didn't stay long, the highlights of our trip were "the Last Supper" and the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II.

... ladders! Apparently, the view of Lucca from up there was fantastic - I waited down the bottom - safer. It is the only tower in Lucca with trees on the top - seven of them. And Lucca is known as la citta dei torri! Collected the car from the villa and set direction for Collodi, Pinocchio's town!
