Via Masaccio 19 Milan, Lombardy, Italy, 20149, 02-403-9950
My boyfriend and I travelled throughout Italy together for two weeks in Summer 2004 after we graduated college. Our first (and last) stop was Milan. It was a pretty, clean and modern city, and it seemed the least touristy of all the places we visited in Italy. Although we didn't stay long, the highlights of our trip were "the Last Supper" and the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II.

... both at work. I decided one day I would go to the grocery store for them and was feelin good until I was checking out and remembered I had to get everything home via bike. The milk isn't gallons, but still heavy, and they don't give you small normal size bags, they're huge, end-of-the-world bags, so I lugged it out to the bike and hung it on the left handlebar. I sent up a quick prayer then headed off. I was on a busy road and every ...
Bergamo, Lombardy, Italy alliemarie... the poor sod’s face sitting at the desk is near enough to do me
in, But he was not the one I had seen before and he certainly wasn’t the person on the phone. AAAAhhhhhh There he is pulling my sanity along with him, I barely hear the comments about the cleaning lady, blah blah blah, as I tear into it and feel about 5 years of stress fall off my back as my little wee book and money are all intact. Good God what a morning.

I now ...
Milan, Lombardy, Italy benitalutz... was a sight to see also....unmatched synergy of world's leading fashion designer label shops, eateries all in one, huge 4-way intersection shopping precinct, and all under cover of very high portico & frescos!

Next stop was the sprawling Castella Sforzesco, where we took 45 minutes strolling around the welcoming fountain, and thru the expansive main & side courtyards (Milan ...

Milan, Lombardy, Italy oz09... the audio entries with the sights in the church. There were no signs and the map we were given didn't seem to match up a lot of the time. But the cathedral interior was impressive regardless.

By then it was after 5pm and everything was closed so we went back to Centrale to get our bags then headed to the sketchy hotel. The room is clean and bright green. I guess it has character!
Milan, Lombardy, Italy travelingdiva... the mouth one was the best - the food was excellent, I like good food and this was definitely that. After lunch we headed over to La Scala which is one of the most famous opera houses in the world, where we were going to go inside and look at the auditorium, because it is supposed to be quite spectacular - however, this week it is closed for renovations, so it was not meant for our eyes this time. Instead we decide to indulge in an ice cream - you CANNOT come to Italy ...
Milan, Lombardy, Italy travelmonsterAfter Istanbul and Rome... even Venice looked dull .. so what do you say about Milan!

Though we did go to see the famous Leonardo Da Vince's Last Supper. For the nerds likes me, let me tell you that the painting is not on a canvas but on the wall of the church (don't remember the name of the church) ... the experience was Wow... it almost felt that you were having dinner with Jesus and his group .. its costs about 25Euro per person ...
Milan, Lombardy, Italy dhruvanand... class who talked about the opera. It was really interesting because I didn' t know anything about how they work. There is a lot more that goes into them and when we watched parts of one in class, I was able to understand it much better after being told how they really work! Thursday was Valentine' s Day so a bunch of the girls that I know all met up after class to go out for an Apertivo. We don' t have these in the States, but I' m pretty sure ...
Milan, Italy bella0021... a few cool days in Switzerland we were glad to see the sun shining in Milano and temperatures in the 30's. We had arranged accommodation at a Milano B&B which we learnt on arrival means "bed & bed"; breakfast is not one of the "B"s, but it was a nice enough place & on the tram route. Our first stop after depositing luggage was a restaurant near Bocconi for lunch where we got straight into the Italian midday ...
