Melaka ka ka kaaaaa

... it we went in the bus station and got tickets to Melaka from the first person we asked.

We then had to get a bus out of the city to the KL stadiums to catch one of the hundreds of buses that had been laid on especially out of town to ferry people across the country. We were glad to eventually get on the road we had four nights left so decided to just see what Melaka was like and take it from there.

Melaka: Dinner with the Japanese Prime Minister

... I had ever seen, but actually made for good showing because it was so ridiculously hilarious and over-the-top ****. Some of the highlights included Rat Bombs (Rats wearing small bombs), which were used to bring down the assassination guild; peoples abilities to bend bullets because they had a heart rate of 400bpm (which makes no ****ing sense?!); the Loom of Fate, a Loom which told the assassins who to kill by reading its weavings like binary code; and the fact that the ...

I think its safe to say after 3 years on the road and 7 months right now with my health constantly in flux, I have become a bit of a jaded traveler and as i always said, if you can't laugh to yourself about it... its time to go home.... Guess its good i'm leaving in 10 days Beyond that I'm meeting with my friend jessica this weekend she wants to go party at a nice posh club at first i was gonna be cheap ...

Final Thoughts on Malaysia

... or do some research before I set off!! We had such a short time in Malaysia but its a nice place that I'd be happy to return to. The vast difference between Cameron Highlands and Kuala Lumpur within such a short distance of each other is quite an eye opener. Malaysia is a clean country, you don't see rubbish everywhere, only a few big rats from time to time! The Malay people are lovely ...

Melaka, Malaysia

From the Melaka bus station, we needed to catch another bus to take us to the Ocean mall. We found a privately run one that cost us 1 RM each for the fifteen minute ride. We had instructions to walk to the Guest House from there, but they involved heading towards a Shell station and there was more than one that we could spot from the mall. We ended up asking a local for some directions, which was easy to do in Malaysia since so many people here speak ...

Historical Melaka

... and sample some more delights! I went to the cinema to watch Hancock and was so excited to see a film! It didn't matter if it was any good! And I had no choice but to get a box of popcorn to enjoy with it since I could smell it all the way from my guesthouse! Day 137 - This morning I decided I would go to Singpore today, rather than tommorrow, as I had seen most of the sights in Melaka and needed all the time I could get in Singapore. Before I went, I had a guided tour of ...

Mallacca - A Dutch-uguese-alasian town

... guesthouse with spacious rooms, friendly staff and a resident cat, and located in the main tourist area of Malacca. The lads that manage the place have created a warm, welcoming home from home, where we felt relaxed from the moment we'd thrown down our rucksacks and collapsed on the bed underneath the air conditioning unit. In fact, little did we realise it at the time, but we'd feel so comfortable here that we'd end up staying for almost a week. Malacca is a jumble of Dutch ...

Saying bye to Malaysia

... Castle & an old dutch fort. Our driver also gave us a guided tour of all the local temples. The best bit was when he took us to a Hindu temple. He took us out the back and showed us the a well that was full of holy water. He made us kneel down and then chucked a bucket of cold water all over us. We were completely drenched. It was quite refreshing because it was so hot. Once again there was ...

A first taste of Asia proper....

... parts. I talked to a lad selling rooms in a city centre hostel, jumped on the local bus and off I went. Just like old times. After settling in to my accommodation (a rather strange two level room with a ladder up to the sleeping area) I went out to explore. What had originally struck me as a rather authentic old town (code for open sewers and crazy drivers) was actually dominated with a big fancy shopping mall and umpteen western ...
