The team’s rivalry with Madrid’s team is, of course, the ultimate contest.

On our walk back, we passed some of the Olympic sights as well as another smiling face – a massive and delightful piece of public sculpture.

Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain cmpatti... collections, however , at the train station…I think chad, however, caught up in the moment bought his Barcelona momento—a shot class with a bull on it (he’s been collecting shot glasses from the U.S. for some time now and is now adding to his stateside collection with this international segment!) he then grunted and pointing wildly with both hands as if he were helping a plane land…we went up the steps and they took our ticket…I was ready to move to ...
Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain and Canary Islands whoisjohngaltWe caught the shuttle bus to the World Trade Centre and then got on a sightseeing bus. We passed the statue of Christopher Colombus which is high on a column, round the old port where there there was lots of restaurants and many many yachts, on to where the sailing was held for the Olympics and then back into the city passing many lovely buildings on the way. We got off at ...
Barcelona, Spain susanel... The intention was to exploit the fresh air and beautiful views from the site, with sixty triangular lots being provided for luxury houses. Ultimately only two houses were built, neither designed by Gaudí, but he and his family eventually moved into one. It has since become a municipal garden. I must add that this park is unlike what I'm used to back at home because principally it lacks grass (!!), but it boasts some spectacular views of Barcelona. Enough writing - see the photos =)

Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain and Canary Islands mallorybecker... Mullets and fanny packs are in. I'm actually totally into the fannies, I must admit. - Creepy guys will hit on you everywhere. No matter what....Even if you dress like complete ****...or go to gay clubs... - Nothing is spicy. If it says "picante" on the menu, it's soooooo not spicy. Bring some spices- it makes all the difference. - The Euro. It's hard to even write about, but basically, the dollar is getting raped by the euro. It sucks....so the best thing to do is to ...
Barcelona, Spain bpadnuk... drink which is popular and I had been wanted to try. Of course they had no ice or cold drinks so we had t pay at a McDonalds for a cup of ice. From there we decided to walk to the beautiful beach to spend the rest of our afternoon. Getting to the beach turned out to be quite difficult- the town has literally build their railroad tracks between the town and the coastline so that you have to walk a long way to get to an underpass in order to get there. Once we were there it was beautiful ...
Barcelona, Spain jenfifi... hundreds of tourists walked around in awe of the place. Aside from the tall arches and vaults, everything was magnificently illuminated, and while the organ played, we walked around admiring the tiny small sculptured details Gothic cathedral always seem to hide. Although shorter than most cathedrals I had visited, it was still one of the most beautiful I'd seen. After the entire day walking, we were smashed so headed back to the hotel for a rest. I wasn't sure I'd ...
Barcelona, Spain zento... side. Although the passion facade represents the death of christ, so I suppose thats alright. The facade was filled with symbols, such as a magic square thingie where all the rows, columns, and diagonals added up to 33 (the age of Christ when he was crucified). A mounted Roman soldier, instead of lancing the body of Christ hanging on the cross, instead pierces the outside of the Church itself. Inside, the space is filled with girders and supports. One of the things that ...
Barcelona, Spain youngtGreetings, Back in Barcelona. It's 09:30 and I have a 13:30 flight. I have to lug around my bags because the check in won't open for two more hours. Didn't spend any money. Except for the five Euros to buy some water and juice just now. My stay in Majorca was nice but short (thanks STA). I watched T.V. last night. Not to my surprise "Hangin'with Mr.Cooper" sucks even worse in Spanish. The stewardesses are well trained in stewardship. They greet you at ...
