To be honest, i wouldn't say the city is beautiful, the city is almost made by many high class hotels with high walls eracted around it and inside it is like a paradise with swimming pools, restaurants and troupical trees facing the beach.. So unless you are rich enough to rent a place in those hotel, then Hammamet would suddenly become a heaven to you. ...
"Market research with locals in a local market"
... the farmer told me not to! Very hot place lots of action going on which you could in no way photo normally. Donkeys without the impression of cruelty define that!
Colours/vibes/sounds/tunisian people go early and sample the real place. I left 0900 and that's when things get in my view worse,tourists arrive most locals go into money mode, head there and back early it's well worth it.
