We arrived in Genoa early in the morning and this time we are berth at a dock with several other boats . it was quiet lovely coming into the port and I got what I hope is a lovely sunrise shot . I love the look of the town Geona. It is one of the Mediterranean greatest ports . It is typical of the area. Lots of tall decorated buildings that seemed very jammed packed together built into the mountains and down to the sea. very Mediterranean in feeling. But then that is where we ...

But given the amount of beef and horse carpaccio we have seen on menus, ...

Genoa is a city of contrasts. It is still very much a commercial and banking hub but its location invites tourists (like us) and cruise ships to stop for a few days. There is a small historic district but much of the city is relatively new. With lots of banks! Today, being Sunday, it was clear which came first. Very little was open. But we started out with a plan (I can hear those who know me well saying 'of ...

... the tourists. then again, im not a tourist, I'm British as my grandmother once said. love that British attitude, noses up! Lol! I have made great friends here including 1 latvian, 3 French girls, a French guy, 2 English speakers (American & British), 2 Germans, an Italian, a Dutch lady, a Turkish guy and a Spanish girl. Costa really is cosmopolitan (no, not the bright pink cocktail, however some of them sure can put a few back). We have shared many ...
