We travelled from San Salvador all the way throught ot Mexico on Wednesday, which was an incredibly long journey. We left at 6.15am and had to change buses in Guatemala City and then we got stuck in traffic due to an accident, so we were late arriving in Tapachula. We spent four days in the town of Puerto Escondido to get some beach time and to see what all the fuss was about. There were several great beaches all next to each other, including Zictela Beach, which is one of the best and most well known surf beaches in the world (apparently... good surf is wasted on us). G - Puerto Escondido is absolutely beautiful. It is so chillled out here its amazing. Such a contrast from Mexico City, its a pretty small beach town really with a lot of surfers and bars and tacky beach shops but its such a nice atmosphere. Well, I think I found the worst road in Mexico. It was the one that our overnight bus was on last night from Mexico City to Puerto Escondido. A long bus ride from Oaxaca City put down in the second class bus station. Then a quick 22peso taxi got me to the hostel early in the morning. So early. I put on my trunks, headed to the beach for a "beach shower" in the ocean.
