... is not going to happen today as here in the valley the sun is shining and the
temp is way up at 18 Celsius. its more like mid summer than November.
This road may well be classed as a pass road but it certainly is not like
most passes as the road is extremely wide and fast also. rather than being cut
out and built into the edge of a mountain cliff its more like massive beds of
concrete road fixed and bridged along the edge of the cliffs and is ultra ...

      Friday 29 August

Stayed around the campsite throughout the morning reading
a good book. A short local walk in the afternoon but managed to catch a bus
that took us right back to our start point rather than taking us further up the
valley side. Gave up in disgust, had a cup of tea and carried on with the good
      book.

... moment I had an inkling of what it might be like to work for the Yukon Geological Survey - maybe I missed my true calling in life? Anyway we had a great time, and finished up the day with a great Wienerschnitzel meal at a local restaurant. Tonight we have to pack up for our train trip to Venice tomorrow. We're sorry to be leaving this area. There is so much great hiking here - maybe we'll be back some ...
