... drinks and got room service before tarting ourselves up for a night at the supperclub called Stars, both wearing black!!!!Went to check out the boutique and casino before dinner. Nothing in the shop caught our eye and we have money to spend. Degustation dinner was excellent and the singer and piano player were good too. I got to request "I'll be looking at the stars......" 19th June we were supposed to drive to Saint Florent and Bastia, we stopped for coffee at Ile Rousse and by then decided it was too late and headed for a beautiful beach (Ostriconi) below a cliff. Nice white sand and great snokeling. Home for shower, shopping and diner.

... set a mean pace on the walk. It’s a steady 2 hour climb to a bridge (‘La Passerelle’) crossing La Tafignino, picnic lunch, and a little shorter to return. It’s stunning countryside with craggy mountainous vistas – but I must be a little unfit, as I return exhausted. A little too much good food and wine, I hear some say? No: not possible… But suitably recuperated after a bracing swim in the hotel pool (the water is at least 18°) ...
