... we hit the jungle scenery. So, obviously, while our carriage full of colourfully dressed Muslim women and children and young men all diligently sleep through the night I spend from 3am to 6am wide awake watching the darkness with only my own thoughts for company, willing the sun to rise on a brand new day.

At 7am Liza pokes me awake and the jungle is out there, speeding past. I see no monkeys. Just lots and lots of greenery and scenery a bit ...

... up for lunch at the Bubu restaurant (where else?!) and stuffed ourselves silly. I immediately felt much worse with the dreaded cold and so spent the next hour and a bit sleeping under my sarong on the sun lounger. Not feeling much better it was soon time to get showered and ready to leave the island. The boats to the mainland ship in and sit just offshore and you have to pay a local water taxi RM2 (£0.40) per person for a lift to the boat. ...

... to have some lunch, buy some flip flops, and book a snorkelling trip for the following day. The snorkelling trip was well and truly one of the highlights of the last four months. We got to swim in close proximity to black tip sharks. They are only a metre or so long but seeing them move in the water up close, they are quiet majestic. Neither of us had been in the water with sharks before. It wasn't a once in a life time, it was first in a life time - we both agreed we want to ...
