... be the nicest town we have seen so far (and not only in Hungary). Apparently it was destroyed by a flood some 150 years ago and then rebuild in a relatively short time. This gives the city center a harmonious look and atmosphere. Add the bikes, the students and the almost Mediterranean climate and you have a very relaxed atmosphere with different kinds of outdoor living (on the banks of the river, in the parks, on the terraces).

... of sausage. There are also vendors selling seeds and beans they have cultivated, clothing and sundries. It's a fabulous place to people watch, to commune with the locals and a great place to practice our Hungarian language! To that point, there is much laughing on both ends. Everyone we have encountered has been patient and kind, often offering us more than what we have paid for, or giving us something for free. It's a beautiful thing.

The coffeehouse - "kavehaz & bar" - known as Muvesz, was an elegant cafe with chandeliers, high vaulted ceilings and dessert display cases on both sides of the door.
