Cruise Phase 1
Our cruise started in Venice on 4 October. The Oceania Rivera was all that we thought it would be. Our stateroom is spacious and very well fitted out. As with all rooms on this particular ship, we have our own balcony where we can sit and enjoy the passing scenery. There are numerous restaurants at which to eat. Four are speciality restaurants and then there is the Grand Dining Room, a buffet restaurant, an outside bar and grill and a coffee shop. It seems that every which way ...
Arrived in Heraklion
The flight lasts about 3 hours taking us directly from London to Heraklion, Crete. As we step out of the plane in the heat, Paulo and I look at each other, without saying anything, but with a big grin on our faces. Rainy Londonland is a far far away memory now!! Heraklion airport reminds me of the small southern Italian airports I went through in my past, with all the cars beeping around, people shouting ...
Kreta

Heraklion to Mykonos - Ferry Trip from hell
... Lots of other passengers going on the same ferry were getting very angry and I don’t blame them. The cranky lady in the office was becoming a real *****. She couldn’t give a **** really. Everyone would share updates with each other and in true European style again people were getting told different stories and any decent customer service is non existent. So many fellow travellers were really ****** off. Thankfully that cranky cow ...
Goodbye Crete
... for accommodation in Mykonos and finally late at night we finally booked one.
Last full day in Crete. Some parts of Crete we liked and some we didn't.
28TH SEPTEMBER 2012 - Up early this morning for breakfast. This hotel had the best spread for breakfast we have seen so far, just happens we both weren’t that hungry. As we sit and have breakfast we can look out to the ocean and see a huge ship coming into Heraklion port - Costa Antartica. We ...
