Not a big drive today - Ypres to Bruges. Brugges is a beautiful old city with many small cobbled streets and bars, bottle shops and chocolate shops everywhere. ... I am sure we emerged more aware then on entering- I think..... Geoff in his inimitable fashion,thought that some of the artwork resembled that of Jackson Pollock who, he was convinced after his early works, was "taking the p***, ie living off his reputation and selling junk.
Eventually after meandering through a large market we decided to wend our way home and collapse exhausted but happy to await the fate of our car in the morning.

... wise and everything was super expensive so we headed down one of the smaller streets. We ended up finding a small restaurant with a set lunch menu for 12€ which was cheese croquets with salad, half a metre of farmers sausage with mashed potatoes (absolutely gross and quite possibly horse) plus a waffle with icing sugar. After lunch I was buggered so we headed back to the hostel and checked out a few vintage and antique shops along the way.

... ride in the afternoon circumnavigated the city and took lots of photos of the buildings and cathedrals.. Architecture here is most interesting, given that buildings are all built with different colour brick and do not have the leaning problems along the canals like Amsterdam..
