Senj, Croatia. In a previous life, as a Geography teacher, each cycle we learnt about “local winds” and glibly trotted off examples such as…. The Bora! Well, it deserves more respect. After a halcyon evening and burnt orange sunset we were woken by gale force winds rocking the cradle (Bo) and they continued through the night and into the next morning. Then it stopped. The sun ...

The drive down to the coast, on quiet back roads was spectacular. The higher seating in the van allows us to see over th crash barriers. The only blip was that Brutus " moved" a little bit as we were driving. This meant roadside adjustments.
We had some cause for sad reflection as we drove past many war damaged dwellings. One little village (where Dave attended to Brutus) ...

It was the world's smallest street.

... festival with not much cheese and bands at night.

We went to a restaurant that had a band too.

There was a group up at the speaker playing their ipod music.
It looked like they were having a good time dancing and singing.

We were walking home and we pasted the festival area and saw a local, traditional dancing in the middle of a tent.
They had dressed in local clothes.

... people out and about, then most places we have been.

Driving around Krk Island was interesting.

We visited the town of Krk, which was lovely with little lanes and a nice port area.

Another small town we visited was Vrbnik.

A cool little town on top of a cliff with narrow streets and great views over the coast.

In fact it has the smallest street in the world here at only 43cm ...
