... lovely tarte au pruneau which is a specialty of the place. It is a delicious prune tart flavored with rum, and I plan to try and recreate it at home.
At the fishmongers we purchased a huge 5 lb lobster, another local treat and made our way to another specialty store where we bought smoked tuna, all of which made for a very fine lunch.

... afternoon. All went well until a loud crack on P&Ps tandem signalled a broken spoke and buckled wheel. Fortunately we were near Pornic which has a Decathlon. After their bike mechanic took off gears, replaced spoke, tried the wheel we were underway again. We have camped on the outskirts of Pornic and done 45 miles - not all in the right direction!! PS. Frances was practising her salsa whilst others were in Decathlon - rock on Frances. Roll on domain. Bon ...

... at the local betting shop/bar we we're put in touch with a chamber d'hôtel with vacancies for 4 cyclists and two tandems. Sadly they weren't serving evening meals so we had to find a restaurant to eat before coping with our night at the chamber. I can report we have survived the meal and are now just off to bed after shower. Roll on tomorrow. Ps today's wildlife find was 4 deer. Sleep we'll folks, more news ...
