Spent the first week and my birthday in Cancun. Stayed the first few nights in downtown Cancun which is a bit further from the beach. The place we stayed was good though, gave us free breakfast and dinner. Went to Chichen Itza which is an ancient Mayan town. It's a pretty big place, and has lots of cool sound effects. When you stand at the bottom of the main pyramid building and clap it sounds like ...
... clad waitresses walking around. Needless to say we did our shot, danced to one song and then moved on. Next stop, Mandela, we spend the rest of our evening/night dancing on a disco floor while strobes and vibrant lights shine down on us. It must of been around 1:30 or so when our stomachs taunted us away from the bar and back to Cabo Blue; where we order some amazing fish and chips before catching a cab back to the house. And that in a nutshell was Day 3 in Cabo!

If you have not gathered from this writing, this place is remarkable.
Walking for one hour or driving for fifteen minutes, you find yourself in the town ...

Thursday November 7, at 0420 we crossed the finish line, about 750 miles south of San Diego.
We had estimated it would take us 36 hours to get from Bahia Santa Maria to the final finish line. We were only off by about an hour. Just before crossing the ...
... of both the Sol and Luna pyramids. It's obvious that a lot of work has gone into restoring the place. There are about a million vendors, all out there selling their wares under the hot sun, and heaps of school kids ignoring their teachers and buying godawful whistles that can be heard from the top of the pyramids. But all in all it was probably one of the most impressive sights I've seen all trip, and I didn't even know it existed! Apparently Chichen Itza pales ...
