From Symi, we took the ferry to Leros, another island but bigger than Symi. Unexpectedly we were picked up from the ferry port and taken to the hotel. Our hotel room overlooked the castle and the hotel overlooked a lovely bay, Panteli Beach, which we could walk to for dinner. We sat right on the waters edge and enjoyed a traditional Greek meal of octopus for Andrew and baked aubergine for ...

Although it's mountainous terrain makes it a popular rock climbing destination, Kalymnos is best know for its history of sponge divers. ... is, by far, hands down, much more awe-inspiring. One can see where John slept (makes the wooden pew look comfy) and exactly where he stood to write the Apocalypse. You can put your hand in the same crevice John did to hold on to for support, and run your hand over the rock that split into three when John heard the voice of God. There was no droning, no thoughts of impending plans.....just a sense of the Spirit and being enveloped in ...

Well, little did we know what lay ahead when we went to bed! At around 1.30am, the boat was in very windy weather with high swells. Thankfully we remained blissfully asleep however other passengers were unwell from this point.

The captain docked for a while near some islands to seek refuge from the weather about 5am. However at 8am we awoke to feel as though we were being tossed in a washing machine, and walking around was almost impossible. Bec did not feel at all well, ...
